Under the Personal Data Protection Act 2012, every organisation must appoint at least one Data Protection Officer (DPO) and make the DPO’s contact details available to the public. Submit this request and HeySara prepares the board resolution to appoint your DPO. Filling in the form takes under 5 minutes.
Form under 5 min
Processing 3 - 5 days
What you’ll need
- Full name as in NRIC, FIN or passport
- ID type and ID number
- Mobile number and email address
No documents need to be uploaded.
Who can be appointed
The DPO should understand data protection laws such as the PDPA or GDPR, and know how the company handles personal data, IT and data security. They should be able to assess data protection risks, be free of conflicts of interest and report directly to senior management. If no one in the company fits, HeySara offers a DPO service.
Steps
- Go to Request. Click Request in the top menu. If you manage more than one company, switch to the right one using the button beside the company name in the left panel.
- Open Appointment of DPO. In the left panel, open Change of Officers and click Appointment of DPO.
- Review the requirements. Read the information needed and the DPO requirements, then click Let’s Get Started.
- Fill in the DPO’s details. Enter the name (as in NRIC/FIN/passport), ID type, ID number, mobile number and email address. All fields marked * are required.
- Submit. Click Submit. If the request has a fee, it is added to your Cart. Complete payment there so HeySara can start. Then track the request under Transaction History at the top right of the Request page.
