Nominee Director

Is a local person appointed to act as the local resident director pursuant to the Companies Act, Cap. 50. Once you have appointed your own local nominee director (when he or she gets her EP), you can replace our nominee director.

Every company is required to establish a register of nominee director and this register is to be kept confidential. Statutory bodies and ACRA can gain access to this register.

The nominee director usually do not participate in the running of the business but nevertheless, is responsible for the annual compliance of the company as he is also an officer of the company.

Sometimes, the appointment of a nominee director is short term as client’s would have their own employees to be appointed as the local resident director. In such case, then the services of a nominee director would ceased.
